Good morning,

It is a privilege and a pleasure to join you all here for the launch of a wonderful exhibition of art and talent. I stand here today on behalf of my City of Brisbane to support these wonderful artists and this truly international art exhibition.

The display of these artworks by Master Artists will bring delight to the many people who will view them over the upcoming week.

Sharing of art and culture has long been an important way to initiate relationships between cities, countries and most importantly people. Art in particular, shares stories in an unspoken way which transcends language barriers. That is why international art exchanges and promotion are so vital in fulfilling this role.

A special thank you is extended to the Guangdong Artists Association, Ms Wangxiao who is Secretary of the Leading Party Members' Group, your support of these artists in displaying their work is greatly appreciated.

These wonderful and esteemed artists have not only dedicated themselves to perfecting their own speciality in art, but have also supported and nurtured younger students in developing their talent.

I would like to specifically acknowledge my constituent Master Zhang Yue, who is currently the Chairman of Australian-Chinese International Cultural and Art Education Exchange Promotion Association, and also the Visiting Professor of Chengdu Neusoft University.

Master Zhang Yue has held many prestigious roles and is recognised across many art societies, academies, colleges and Universities.

He has held three large exhibitions in Australia, held 14 personal professional international exhibitions, published 14 personal collection albums, and published two personal collections of poem, as well as supporting charitable organisations . We are proud of his achievements.

Master Zhang Yue has also played an important role and made contributions to build   exchange channels between China and Australia in culture and arts filed. We hope Master Zhang Yue will bring more exhibitions to our City of Brisbane to share more stories of diversity and harmony.

It is a pleasure to be here for this exhibition and to work together between Brisbane, Australia and China to promote harmony and international art as a bridge between nations.
